Steve Curington Homegoing Updates
Update 11/23/2010 8:00pm:
The words “thank you” just do not seem sufficient to express to you the thoughts I have toward every one of you who have prayed, comforted, and gave to my children and me since the Lord God saw it necessary to bring my husband and father of our children home to be with Him. The measure of grace we are experiencing is overwhelming, unexplainable, and…amazing! My children and I have observed the mighty hand of God become so real to us in so many ways. I consider it a privilege to have been able to be married to the man who meant so much to so many people because he…loved.
I also appreciate the leadership of RU and their dedication to seeing my husband’s vision continue. With the training my husband gave each staff member, under the direction of Pastor Kingsbury, I am confident that God will enable and use them to multiply God’s ultimate plan.
Thank you again for your prayers and please do not stop! Pray that my children will continue to see God’s hand and trust Him that He knows what is best for each of us. We value you and appreciate your love for my husband, our family, and the ministry.
-Lori Curington

Update 10/31/2010 6:00pm:
It is with great pain and sorrow that I come to you to report the death of our beloved founder and president of Reformers Unanimous, Steven Curington. Bro. Curington left his earthly home and entered Heaven on Saturday, October 30, around 4:30 pm.
As many of you have heard, you have sent your condolences. We thank you for this. We covet your prayers and appreciate your precious words of comfort. Please continue to pray for our church, our ministry, and especially Steve’s family during this time. We also covet your prayers for our National Ministry as well as our Men’s and Women’s Homes. Though our ways are not His ways, we can rest assured that God is in control.
My heart is heavy for Lori and the children; for Steve’s mom and brothers; for our Pastor; for our church; for our RU staff and families; for our men’s and women’s homes; for our graduates; for our local chapter; and for the RU nation. This week is not one that I ever anticipated.
Many of you have expressed your desire to be a part of the memorial service. We welcome you. Steve loved you. It will bring us great honor for you to show your love to him by coming. However, we need to discern the size of the venue based on the number of people who are coming. If you think you may be able to come, we need you to “register” at Please Register Here. so we can make proper arrangements. We will not hold you to this, but it is necessary that we make plans for the appropriate location in Rockford. Please see the information below:
(The following information is a tentative schedule. Details are still being developed.) The Memorial Services for Steven Curington will be held at approximately 7:00 pm, Thursday, November 4 with Dr. David Gibbs and other preachers assisting Dr. Paul Kingsbury in this special life celebration event. It is IMPERATIVE that we know the number of people attending so that we can determine the venue. Please register immediately if you plan to attend as decisions will need to be made quickly. We will keep you informed through our website of arrangements and plans as they are determined as well as send you an email if you register.
I have had the privilege to work closely with my boss, my teacher, my friend, Steven Curington, for the past 9 years. I will miss him deeply…but I will not let his vision die. If he were able, I believe he would tell us similar words as the apostle Timothy, “Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.” (II Timothy 2:1-3)
The battle is still on…and together, we will continue to reach the addicted world with the Truth that can make them free…finally!
Your friend,
Benjamin R. Burks
