Please join Reformers Unanimous International June 26-28, 2008, for a unique opportunity to learn how to minister to addicted people – those without and within your local church. Pastor Scott Tewell and the people of Rosedale Baptist Church of Baltimore, Maryland, are wonderful conference hosts, and you will be blessed to learn with others how to reach the addicted both in your community and within the walls of your local church.
Do you have prodigals that you pray for? Do you wish you could help them find their way home? The overall theme of the Prodigal Son story is often missed by many. The theme instructs us on the importance of having a relationship with the Father. Reformers Unanimous is being used by God to help people today who hide from the Father in one of two different ways.
The first is those who hide in open rebellion by leaving the Father such as the prodigal son. Our world is filled with people who are doing all sorts of things that harm not only them, but many others around them. They have chosen to go their own way. With twenty-five million addicts in America today, each of those addicts directly affects the lives of four other people. That is 100 million people in society today who are looking for a place of hope and a place were true freedom can be found. We believe that place can be your local church.
The second son in this story was found hiding from the Father behind the cloak of religion. He lived in the Father’s house, but he viewed his relationship as a slave instead of a son. He was more concerned with following the rules than having a relationship. His entire focus was what he was “doing” for the Father instead of what he could “be” to the Father – a son! Most pastors experience the difficulty of getting their people to have a heart for God. We see this to be especially true within the walls of our local church resulting in high divorce rates, bitter hearts, teen problems, hidden addictions, etc. Reformers Unanimous is being used by God to help thousands understand that the local New Testament church is God’s support group for anyone far from the Father’s heart.
